Munich has become a rich source of electronic music over the past few years, most notably through acts like tINI and the Zenker Brothers. On a different – but equally enjoyable tip – is the Love Harder label, which again shows their strength here thanks to their latest release, which comes at us from Munich native, Guardate. A regular on the label, his sound is indebted to house tropes in all their forms, and he rolls another six here on a release that’s notable for its many bountiful cuts.
Up first we have the title track, a collaboration with Saxity that features the vocals of Christine Ben-Ameh. A sultry concoction of full-formed house, there’s a nice contemporary flavour to this one thanks to its penchant for big-room piano sounds. A feel-good track, that’s for sure.
Of the remixes, the one that really takes the breadth away is the EP’s closing salvo, which arrives thanks to Schwarz 100. A blissful deep house number, it glides about with a real elegance, and is a fine interpretation of the original. Elsewhere, Curtis Gabriel’s remix is another fine effort – and one that’s more up-tempo in sound. A stunning array of sounds from start to finish – what’s not to like about that?
